Sustainability

All MELA textiles are certified according to Fairtrade Cotton, the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), and the Green Button (Grüner Knopf). These three certifications focus on different parts of our supply chain and complement each other in their social and environmental requirements.

Fairtrade Cotton stands for a Fairtrade minimum price and premium for cotton farmers, as well as requirements for labor rights and environmental protection in cotton cultivation.

GOTS sets environmental and social requirements for processing from raw material to finished textile, including standards for chemicals, wastewater, and working conditions.

The Green Button combines production requirements with the verification of our corporate due diligence obligations.
